FEHB Enrollment Period Extended Through January 2009 - Tuesday, December 09, 2008

Late in the day on December 5, 2008, OPM announced that it will allow federal employees to submit belated enrollments or changes in FEHBP, FEDVIP and FSAFEDS through January 2009. The prior deadline for the open season period was today, December 8. However, after it became apparent that numerous changes in insurance coverage in the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Standard Option plan for nonnetwork elective surgeries were confusing and unclear, OPM extended the period. Chapter 228 Food Drive Benefitting the Maryland Food Bank - Tuesday, December 09, 2008

NTEU Chapter 228 is happy to announce we are sponsoring a food drive in Germantown to help those in need during the holidays.
With the current economy and the holiday season approaching, it is not hard to realize how tight wallets will be in the coming months.  Many families within our community are unable to buy the needed food to support their family. To make matters worse, the Maryland Food Bank inventory is 50% below the level necessary to fulfill community needs.

Effective immediately, NTEU is collecting non-perishable food donations (NO GLASS PLEASE) through January 30, 2009.  Please see the attachment for a listing of the most needed items.

Our goal is to fill the Chapter Office C-075  to the rafters.  But, don't worry – Chapter 228 will remain open for business!!!!

Drop off locations:
Cloverleaf Rooms 2157, 2103, and 2017
Germantown Rooms: G034, D401, E262, C228, and E411

The Office of Counterintelligence,
The Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, and
